Terms of Service

You can browse goalpedia without an account, but classifying goals, voting, and following others requires one. You're responsible for keeping your login details secure and for everything that happens under your account. Tell us at michael@symmetriclabs.xyz if you believe your account has been compromised.

You must be at least 13 years old to create an account. If the law where you live sets a higher age for consenting to online services, you must meet that age.

You agree not to:

• manipulate classifications or votes — through automated tools, multiple accounts, or coordinated brigading — in a way that misrepresents genuine consensus;
• upload or submit content that is unlawful, abusive, hateful, or harassing;
• attempt to break, overload, scrape at scale, or reverse-engineer the Service or its data;
• impersonate another person or misrepresent your affiliation with anyone.

We may suspend or remove accounts and contributions that break these rules. A goal tucked in bad faith is still bad faith.

When you classify a goal, vote, or post a display name, you keep ownership of what you submit. You grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to store, display, and aggregate your contributions so the Service works — for example, showing the crowd consensus on how a goal was scored.

Aggregated and anonymised results (such as “62% said tucked”) may be displayed publicly and are not attributable to you individually.

Goalpedia describes real football matches using data from third-party providers. Player names, club names, competition names, and match facts belong to their respective owners and are used here for identification and commentary. Goalpedia is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by any club, league, or governing body.

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available.” We may change, suspend, or discontinue features — including the classification taxonomy itself — as the game evolves. We don't guarantee that the Service will be uninterrupted or error-free.

To the extent permitted by law, Goalpedia is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential losses arising from your use of the Service. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.

You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you break these terms or if we reasonably need to in order to protect the Service or other people.

We may update these terms from time to time. When we make material changes we'll update the date at the top of this page, and where appropriate we'll let you know. Continuing to use the Service after a change means you accept the updated terms.

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and any disputes will be subject to the courts of England and Wales.

These terms, together with our Privacy Policy, are the entire agreement between you and us about the Service. If any part of them is found unenforceable, the rest stays in effect. Our not enforcing a term is not a waiver of it. You may not transfer your rights under these terms; we may transfer ours to a successor that takes over the Service.
